She was born on Oct. 27, 1934 in Aragon, the daughter of the late Harry Edwin Meers and the late Martile Sanders Meers.
Mrs. Jackson worked many years for Nantucket Industries and especially enjoyed sitting with the elderly. She was a member of the Morning View Baptist Church and for many years was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church where she taught the Junior Girls Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy R. Jackson on Oct. 1, 2012 and a sister, Doris Grace Brumit.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet Dover of Rockmart, Judy Robinson and husband Tim of Rockmart and Jill Gowens and husband David of Silver Creek; brothers, John T. Meers of Cedartown and Charles E. Meers and wife Christine of Rockmart and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Morning View Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hulsey, Rev. Hoyt Lewis and Bro. Melton Moss officiating.
A eulogy was given by her grandson, Ryan Robinson. Interment services followed in the family lot of the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
The following grandsons served as pallbearers: Ryan Robinson, Will Dover, Wesley Dover, Justin Dover, Branson Gowens and Dalton Gowens.
Honorary escorts were Brody Gowens and Lindsey Robinson.
