LaQuinton Delmar Hudson, who turned 20 in December and now lives in Rockmart, took the stand in his own defense earlier in the day.
Hudson, 17 years old at the time of the alleged incident in October 2010, was charged with child molestation and sexual battery of a female under 16 years old.
The charges stem from an alleged incident involving a 10-year-old female relative.
Hudson said in his testimony that he and the girl were fighting over a remote control when she fell on his shins while he was laying in the floor.
Hudson said he tried to get her off him by lifting his legs up and down. He testified that no private areas ever touched during the scuffle.
His older brother walked by, got an obstructed view, and became concerned, according to Hudson’s testimony and other evidence presented.
The alleged victim testified for the prosecution stating that private areas did touch and that made her feel “uncomfortable.”
Others testified to the events that night, including the girl’s mother.
The mother stated she left her daughter at the home to be watched while she went out and there were four others there at the time, with the oldest being 21-years-old.
She said she filed charges the next night after talking further with her daughter.
