He was born on Jan. 19, 1925 in Cedartown, a son of the late Earl Hudgins and Evelyn Purcell Hudgins.
Mr. Hudgins was retired from the Rome Plow Company and was a U. S. veteran, proudly serving with the United States Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Tant Hudgins; brothers; James and Robert Hudgins and sister; Dorothy Kelley.
He is survived by his son, Duane Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Steve Fell; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Jack Hubbard; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Marsha Hudgins; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Kelley officiating.
Interment followed in the North View Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland Post 86 Honor Guard.
The following gentlemen were asked to serve as pallbearers: Alvin Crabb, Jason Crabb, Andrew Fell, Sean Fell, John Kelley and Chris Smith. Daniel Smith served as honorary pallbearer.
