He was born on Dec. 31, 1926 in Polk County to his parents, the late Ben and Dean Green West.
Mr. West was a veteran, proudly serving with the United States Navy during World War II.
He was a member of the Polk County Cattlemen’s Association and was a longtime member of the Pine Bower Baptist Church.
During his time at Pine Bower he served in many capacities and on many church committees. He was a former church deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Duanne West and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Roberson West; son and daughter-in-law, Duane West Jr. and Gail; daughter, Kenna W. Baker; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Kiser officiating.
Interment followed in the family lot of the Pine Bower Cemetery.
The Pine Bower Men’s Sunday School Class served as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
