He was born Sept. 1, 1939 in Polk County.
Mr. Lee was a long-time member of Anna Kresge Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a member of the U. S. Army Reserve.
Mr. Lee received his bachelor’s degree from Shorter College, masters from West Georgia College and education specialist degree from Jacksonville State University.
He was a retired educator from Polk School District, a Cedartown High School Key Club adviser and active member of the band parents’ organization.
Mr. Lee was a member of Polk Educators Association and Georgia Association of Educators and served as a delegate to the national convention. He was an employee of Georgia Highlands College and Etowah Valley Credit Union.
He is preceded by parents, Hiram and Omie Hyde Lee and brother, Russell Lee.
Mr. Lee is survived by wife, Linda A. Lee; children and their spouses, Cindi and Mark Hicks, Cherri and Alan Simmons, Michael and Jennifer Lee, and Michelle “Bean” Lee and two granddaughters.
The funeral service was conducted on Friday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. at Anna Kresge Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Cadle, Rev. John Giglio, and Rev. Rebecca Holmes officiating.
Interment followed in the Polk Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were Rodney Pope, Ben Lovvorn, Josh Crayton, Bill Dickert, Earle Ellis, and David Chang.
Flowers are being accepted; however, the family does prefer memorial contributions to Anna Kresge Memorial United Methodist Church, 15 Booger Hollow Rd., Cedartown, GA 30125.
The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
