The woman injured in a collision with a school bus is apparently going to be okay.

Alicia Gaston was treated and released from Floyd Medical Center Monday afternoon, according to hospital information.

Gaston was taken by ambulance to the hospital after running into the back of a bus at the railroad tracks on Highway 278 near the Bo Jangles restaurant in Rockmart.

The 24 children on the bus from Eastside Elementary School were uninjured.

The bus driver stopped before crossing over the tracks.

“The driver of the car apparently lost concentration or wasn’t paying attention and hit the back of the bus,” Harrison said.

The children were transferred to another bus.

my child was sitting where ms gaston hit the bus and ended up hurt.... muscle sprains... treated and released at fmc monday night. she is to be rechecked later this week. she also had a severe asthmas attack during the collision and was transported back to the school by a paraprofessional and family friend. we would like to thank everyone for their prayers and calls. it was a scary situation for us since she suffers from a heart condition and seizures, along with other medical conditions.
