She was a 1941 graduate of St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Jacksonville, Fla. Mrs. Ragland volunteered for the Army Air Forces as a nurse in 1943.
After her discharge, with the rank of First Lieutenant in 1946, she moved to Jacksonville, with her husband.
In 1964, she came to saving faith in Jesus through Barbara Fain’s Bible Study in Atlanta. In 1966, she became an active member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, PCA in Birmingham, until 2011.
As a member of Briarwood, she participated in the missions program, prayer ministry, and the weekly Bible study led by her Pastor, Frank M. Barker Jr.
Mrs. Ragland attended an evangelism training session at Briarwood. In 2011 she became a member of Grace Presbyterian Church PCA in Cedartown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Ragland.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Cherry Ragland, four grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews.
A graveside service was held Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. Her ashes were buried next to her late husband’s at Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville. A memorial service was conducted at Grace Presbyterian Church, Cedartown, at 3:30 p.m., on Dec 9.
