She was born on Oct. 12, 1909, in Shelby County, Ala. the daughter of the late Sam and Edna Potter Ray.
Jennie was a retired accountant for the IRS and was also worked for the North Georgia Methodist Conference.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred A. Ridenour; sister, Lena Massey and brothers, Sam Ray and Montee Ray.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Dale Melton and Susan and Robert Rentz; a grandson and great-granddaughter.
A graveside was conducted on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m. at the Decatur Cemetery, 299 Bell Street, Decatur, GA 30030, with Rev. Bill McKoy officiating.
Interment followed directly after the service.
The family has requested that flowers be omitted and donations can be made to the following churches: Arnold’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 8110 Bluff Ridge Road, Bessemer, AL 35022; First United Methodist Church of Cedartown, GA, 201 Wissahickon Avenue, Cedartown, GA 30125 or First United Methodist Church of Decatur, 300 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030.
