Stephen Lee, store manager of the Cedartown Fred's, presented checks for $185 to the Cedartown Fire and Police Departments Tuesday afternoon.
Lee said the money came from the chain's Hero Hat campaign which raised $335,671 nationally. Each store received checks to present to their local community departments based on their total sales of Hero Hats.
Cedartown Police Chief Henry King thanked Lee for the check stated the money would go towards the department's Explorer Scout program.
Battalion Chief Darrell Stephens excepted the check on behalf of the Fire Department.
