She was born in Rome, the daughter of Mrs. Joyce Elliott Gann and the late Maurice E. Gann.
She was a 1975 graduate of East Rome High School where she was a member of the East Rome marching band.
She worked for the Floyd County Board of Education for 16 years, and worked many years in the banking business.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Her father Mr. Maurice E. Gann preceded Mrs. McNitt in death on June 16, 2007.
Survivors include her husband, Roger McNitt, of Rome, to whom she was married on May 24, 1978, her mother, Mrs. Joyce Elliott Gann, of Rome, two daughters, Melissa McNitt of Rome, and Kristin McNitt of Atlanta, father-in-law, Charles Mc Nitt, of Cartersville; aunt, Betty Clarke, of Rome, and one granddaughter, Mackenzie McNitt, of Rome.
A celebration of life was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Second Ave United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott McClure and the Rev. Beth Sanders officiating.
Daniel’s Funeral Home, Rome, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
