Shedds USA donated a custom built 6' x 8' playhouse which is currently on display at the Cedartown Home Depot location.
The playhouse will be used as a raffle prize for the CASA of Polk and Haralson child advocacy program. The heavy duty playhouse is valued at close to $2,000 and features, a front porch, side windows with flower boxes, and custom paint colors provided by Home Depot.
$5 donation tickets are being sold at various locations around town, such as the CASA office in Courthouse #2, Regions Bank, Merle Norman, Alfa Insurance, Bussey’s Flowers, and Cedar Stream Printing.
The raffle drawing will take place after the Cedartown Christmas Parade on Dec.6. It is not necessary for the winner to be present to win.
Melodie Smith, executive director stated, “ We are thankful for the support and encouragement provided by Home Depot and Sheds USA and their efforts to assist CASA with our fundraising efforts to provide trained community volunteers to advocate for foster children.” Smith went on to share, “The staffs of both Home Depot and Sheds USA were wonderful to work with."
Their excitement and enthusiasm was contagious and their generosity will not be forgotten, Smith said. It is encouraging to see corporate businesses desire to get involved and be community partners.
