She was born on Nov. 21, 1925 in Braswell, Ga. the daughter of the late Roy Forsyth and the late Eva Holder Forsyth.
Mrs. Forsyth was a graduate of the Rockmart High School Class of 1944 and attended Berry College. She retired with 50 years of service as office manager of the Forsyth Motor Company and was a devoted member of the Friendship Baptist Church of Paulding County.
Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Rockmart Lodge #321 Order of the Eastern Star and was very active in the American Red Cross Blood Drives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hayes on July 22, 2003; two sisters, Pauline Hayes and Wilma Gladden and three brothers, Eugene Forsyth, Gordon Forsyth and Robert Forsyth.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Marie Forsyth of Rockmart; sister-in-law, Sarah Forsyth of Rockmart; brother-in-law, Buren Gladden of Rockmart; three nieces, five nephews, and her caregivers.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. in the Friendship Baptist Church of Paulding County with Rev. Keith Clark, Rev. David Warriner and Rev. Bobby Walraven officiating.
Entombment services followed in the family lot of the church cemetery.
The following nephews served as pallbearers: Neal Gladden, Cary Hayes, Jon Forsyth, Gary Forsyth, Lee Forsyth, Harold McDurmon and Jerry Stringer.
The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
