Mrs. Dorothy Walraven “Dot” Bunch, 96, of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012.

She was born in Floyd County on Sept. 17, 1916 the daughter of the late David Washington Walraven and the late Delila Millison Green Walraven.

Mrs. Bunch owned and operated Shorter Avenue Café, Chet’s Café, Dinner Bell Café, and 7 Hill Café for many years. She was of the Baptist faith and was a Foster Grandparent for Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital for 10 years.

In addtion to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reynolds Benjamin “Chet” Bunch, on June 5, 1975; sisters, Gertrude Roland, Ruth Wilson, Sara Land, Willene “Tootsie” McRay and Eva Mae Walraven; brothers, Carl Walraven, Martin “Bus” Walraven and Calvin “Pete” Walraven.

Survivors include her son, James Lamar Bunch and wife, Lynda, Cedartown; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Free officiating.

Interment followed in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were: Jerry Bunch, Gene Bunch, Brian Bunch, Don McRay, Leo Hamrick and Jerry Payne.

The Henderson and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
