GAINESVILLE, GA. — A Florida firm will soon take over management of lodges and other facilities at two state parks in the north Georgia mountains.

The Times of Gainesville reports that Coral Hospitality will begin management duties at Unicoi State Park in White County beginning Nov. 1 and Amicalola Falls State Park in Dawson County by Dec. 1.

The Naples, Fla.-based management firm has operated Brass Town Valley Resort in Young Harris since 2005.

Georgia Department of Natural Resources board members discussed the partnership with Coral Hospitality during its recent meeting in Atlanta.

The Times reports that the move is part of the DNR's strategic plan for state parks to become self-sufficient and pay for themselves.
