The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County this weekend, Oct. 6-7:

1. On Saturday, Oct. 6 Main Street Books, 312 Main St, Cedartown will be recording the stories and memories of former mill and factory workers of Polk County. If you have worked in a cotton mill, hosiery mill or apparel factory in Polk County or the surrounding village, you are invited to come and share your story. All interviews and scanned images will be archived at the Center for PUblic History at the University of West Georgia.

2. The Silver Comet/Chief Ladiga Trail exhibtion is on display now through Oct. 27 at the Cultural Arts Center, 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Building 300, Rockmart. Gallery hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

3. ASegura Insurance Services, 411 S. College Street, Cedartown, will hold a ribbon cutting on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m.

4. The Rockmart Theatre, 116 E. Elm St., Rockmart will hold a show to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Featured bands will be Ashlie Rae, and Bennie Gray and the Trailer Park Cowboys. Several veterans will have photos, medals, uniforms and other items on display in the theatre gallery for people to view prior to the show. All proceeds will go towards the Wounded Warrior Project.
