Despite the inclement weather, a crowd attended the Girl Scout registration extravaganza Saturday.

The event was held at Victory Baptist Church, Highway 278. Brief showers did not dampen enthusiasm of the youngsters and their parents. However, inflatables crumbled after drenching rain fell around noon. Other activities included face painting, games and plenty of food.

After the rain fell, Nina Jackson, troop leader for #11655, completed a design for Eliza Stone. Pam Wright was also present.

The Girl Scouts of the United States of America is a youth organization for girls in the United States and American girls living abroad. It was founded by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912 and was organized after Low met Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, in 1911.
