The Compassion Building is planning a fund-raiser called Cans for Bail.

The fund-raiser will be held Oct.11 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to help raise money and can goods for Feed Polk County and the Compassion Building's Thanksgiving dinner for the community.

This is how it works:

Interested parties pay a nominal donation of $20 and a real police officer will go to the location in Cedartown and "arrest" the person. Then, they will be brought to the Compassion Jail in

Aaron’s parking lot in Cedartown. They will have to post bail of 20 cans of food or $10. If

bail is not posted in 30 minutes, bail goes up by 5 cans every 30 minutes.

A Compassionate Breakout Card can be purchased for $10 ahead of time to avoid

being arrested all together (Limit 50).

To purchase a warrant or Compassionate Breakout Card, please contact

Tara Payne (CEO), (678)953-0468, Rydell Palmer (CEO), 678-478-8349,
