NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stock futures are mixed ahead of a report from the Commerce Department that is expected to show a slight uptick in in growth for the U.S. economy.

However, trading is very light for a third straight day, with many investors waiting to hear what Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke says Friday at the central bank's annual meeting.

Dow Jones industrial futures are down 2 points to 13,084. The broader S&P futures gave up 0.3 points to 1,407.50. Nasdaq futures are up 0.25 points to 2,781.

Economists expect the overall economy grew at an annual rate of 1.7 percent in the second quarter, which would set the stage for modest growth for the rest of the year. The report will be released at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time Wednesday.
