He was born on Oct. 2, 1951 to his parents, the late David Maddox, Sr. and Eloise Jackson Maddox.
Prior to his illness Mr. Maddox had served as an Engineer for the Norfolk-Southern Railroad for 34 years. He was a member of the Grace Pointe Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Maddox Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Mobley Maddox; daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Jason Hutchins, Machelle and Joey Crawford and Denni Peek and Eric Wilson; several grandchildren, two cousins and a number of other relatives survive.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, July 25 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Swafford officiating.
Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery.
The following gentlemen were asked to serve as pallbearers: Eric Wilson, Shane Knott, Chris Norris, Calvin Maddox, Lynn Crook and Shane Mobley. Dennis Barnes served as an alternate pallbearer.
Honorary pallbearers were: Richard Morris, Jason Hutchins, Joey Crawford, Billie Reeves, Roy Blankenship and Jimmy Blankenship.
