This year, the recreation department is offering soccer, football, cheerleading, and baseball for children in Polk County.
Children ages three-to-12 are eligble for cheerleading and football while children ages three-to-13 are eligible for soccer. Baseball is accepting children from ages three-to-16-years-old.
The cost for cheerleading sign-ups is $20, flag football (ages three-to-six) is $40, tackle football (ages seven-to-12) is $50, soccer for ages three-to-six is $40, and ages seven-to-13 is $50. Baseball sign-ups for children ages three-to-five is $40, and ages six-to-16 is $50.
Parents may sign their children up online at Cedartown rec.com, however the must pay in person. An option to sign-up in person is also available. To sign-up and pay in person, visit the gym at the Bert Wood Youth and Athletic Complex any time Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Deadlines to sign-ups for all sports except baseball is Friday, Aug. 10. Baseball sign-ups will run longer, although no official deadline has been given.
People interested in being a head coach or assistant coach in any sport this fall should also report to the gym at the Bert Wood Youth and Athletic Complex any time Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. All that is required of people interested in coaching is a driver’s license.
