The event began at 11 a.m. and continued into the early afternoon.
Georgia's General Primary election is July 31. Multiple candidates are running on the Republican ticket, in some cases without Democratic Party opposition. Some races will therefore be settled in July.
Candidates Saturday were offered a three-minute opening statement describing their background and why they are seeking public office.
Questions were then posed by the moderator, Larry Tolbert. Due to the large number of questions, Tolbert presented several T.E.A. Party positions, such as support for term limits for political office, and asked the candidates to show their support for these issues by a show of hands.
More than 50 people were on hand to watch the event. Due to the mid-afternoon heat, many chose to sit or stand in the shade of oak trees, rather than up close to the stage in the sun.
