The Logan Clock used to be a prominent display in front of Pirkle's Deli, but was recently damaged after it was struck by a vehicle, and has since been removed from Main Street.
The damaged base of the clock is all that remains at present.

People having lunch at Cedartown’s Pirkle's Deli might want to remember to wear their wristwatches because the public clock just outside will not be able to remind them when their lunch break is over.

According to police reports, The Logan Clock on Main Street was damaged by a Ryder rental truck on April 24 just before 3 p.m.

Cedartown City Manager Robbie Rokovitz took on the responsibility of acquiring the city’s replacement for the clock. He said he is now is waiting on a quote from Verdin Bells and Clocks for a replacement and also the settlement from the insurance company of the responsible party for the funds.

Rokovitz has filed a claim through Ryder rental company, which leased out the truck that ran into the clock. He has also contacted the Ryder safety manager.

The clock was severely damaged and removed.

“Streetscape is very important to the community,” Rokovitz said. “The clock is very important and I just want to get it back where it belongs.”

The clock was donated to the city of Cedartown by H.C. and Marilyn Sims in memorial of Harley J. Logan and Savannah brewster Logan.
