According to recreation director Jeff Hulsey, the tournament is played to see who will advance to the state tournament in Crisp County. The District tournament will be at the Nathan Dean Sports Complex, starting Friday, June 22 at 6 p.m. It is a double elimination tournament with the top team in the Class A and Class B division advancing to state.
“This is a great opportunity for our girls to participate,” Hulsey said. “And it’s time to let the other cities visit our community.”
Competing at the tournament will be Rockmart, Cedartown, Rome, Dalton, Summerville, Calhoun, and Murray-Chatsworth.
