The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, June 12:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Burt Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activites. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. The House Outreach Ministry, 663 Bethel Church Rd. Silver Creek, will offer meals to any child under 18 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 5 through July 26 at 11 a.m. There are no income requirements. For more information call 706-936-0942.

3. The Coosa Valley Area Chapter of the Georgia State Retirement Association (GSRA) will meet for lunch on Tuesday June 12 11:15 a.m. at Bella Roma Italian Grill, 770 Braves Blvd NE, Rome. Representatives Howard Maxwell, John Meadows, Barbara Reece and Katie Dempsey will present the program. All members are urged to attend and bring a guest.

4. Haven, a support group for women, meets each Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Cedartown Housing Authority, 344 West Ave. A group discusses such issues as domestic violence, sexual assault and addictions among other topics. The group is described as a place where women can safely talk about any problem or issue they may be having. For more information, contact 770-748-6633 or 770-748-2300.

5. The Polk School District Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the central office.
