The 12,000-square-foot masonry/metal structure will include offices, bays and a show room for all makes and models of pre-owned cars and trucks.
Owner Calvin Diemer has a similar business in Acworth and plans to purchase one in Jasper, Georgia.
“We are family owned and have been in business since 1959,” he said. “My two sons are involved and, once everything is complete, Andrew will be in Jasper and Daniel in Acworth.”
When the new business opens, Diemer said about 10 people from the Rockmart area will be working at the site.
“We are excited to be in Rockmart,” he said. “I believe there is a good market for us in this community.”
Jeff Bailey of Rockmart will assume a management role at the new facility when it opens in September. He has been working with Diemer during the location process.
Builder Dennis Graham said he has moved equipment to the site where storm drainage work is now underway.
“We will have 70 to 100 people working on this project before it is completed,” Graham said. “I have done a lot of work in Rockmart, which included paving the new parking area at Meggitt.”
Plans are to have a grand opening celebration once the new business opens.
