A freak storm knocked down several trees when it pushed through Polk County Sunday night, according to county officials.

Matt Denton, Polk County Assistant City Manager, said road crews were called out to remove four or five trees blown down by the high winds and hail.

He said the storm came up quickly and only affected the area southwest of Cedartown. It didn’t affect Cedartown or Rockmart at all, he said.

No damage to roads or homes was reported.
