The Rockmart Little League and Rockmart girls softball league has continued to play this week, albeit modified schedules, with the Criterion- Referenced Competence Tests (CRCT) being conducted in Polk County schools.

While Little League president Lee Hayes and Rockmart girls softball league president Neil Lewis love their respective sports, they also know the importance of giving kids proper rest so they will be ready for the CRCT tests.

"We are only playing one game a night in each age group," Hayes said. "We are trying our best to get the kids home early so they can rest for the CRCT."

Starting next week, youth softball and baseball games will return to their normal schedules.
