Darrell Wayne Robinson, 31, of Cedartown died at Erlanger Hospital April 20, officials said.
Robinson was airlifted after emergency officials were call to the wreck just before 9 a.m. on Cave Spring Road at Chubbtown Road.
Emergency crews had to removed Robinson from his vehicle, according to Randy Lacey, Polk County Safety Director.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Robinson was traveling south on Cave Spring Road and the driver of the other vehicle, Christopher Ryan Robinson, was going north.
Reports state Darrell Robinson left the road momentarily and corrected his 2002 Honda Accord. He then crossed the centerline and was struck in the passenger side by Christopher Robinson, who was driving a 1995 Ford Superwagaon.
The Honda then went into an embankment.
It is unknown why Darrell Robinson left the road.
Christopher Robinson said he went to render aid to the other driver and saw Darrell Robinson was not wearing a seat belt, reports said.
Darrell Robinson would have been cited with failure to maintain lane.
A passenger was in Christopher Robinson’s vehicle but no other injuries are reported, according to officials.
The two Robinsons were reportedly related but GSP officials aren’t sure of the relationship.
