Two separate wrecks on Cave Spring Road earlier this morning left at least one man seriously injured and all emergency personnel extremely busy, according to an official.

Randy Lacey, Polk County Safety Director, said the first crash happened just before 9 a.m. on Cave Spring Road at Chubbtown Road.

The Polk County Volunteer Fire Department, the Cedartown Fire Department, the Polk County Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol all assisted in the situation.

The two-vehicle collision resulted in emergency personnel assisting in removing one man from his vehicle, Lacey said. He was airlifted to a hospital because of his injuries, he said.

As the injured man was being airlifted, emergency crews were called to a one-vehicle crash nearby on Cave Spring Road. There were only minor injuries in that wreck, Lacey said.

No more details are currently available. The GSP is handling the incident.
