Cedartown High School has announced the student and Teacher of the month for February.

Dr. Richard Short, Exceptional Education teacher, has been elected by his peers as February’s faculty of the Month. He has four years of experience in education.

Dr. Short has worn many hats over the years. Before coming to CHS, he retired from the United States Navy, received an Associates degree from Tidewater Community College, a B.S from Old Dominion University, and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University, and worked as a chiropractor. He has three children, Katherine, Richard and Matthew and one grandchild, Derringer.

When asked about his job, Richard said, “There are too many great things to name them all, but it’s great when a student realizes that they get it.”

Ronald Stephens for being selected by the faculty and staff as student of the month for February. Ronald is a Freshman at CHS.

The faculty member who nominated him said, “Ron is very dedicated to his education, completing all assignments and striving to be the best student he can be.”

Ron hopes to attend college after graduation and pursue a career in either Criminal Justice or Education.
