Floyd County deputies arrested an Aragon man Wednesday on drug charges stemming from an incident in the Armuchee area on March 19.

According to Floyd County jail reports:

Clayton Michael McCraw, 30, 1626 Morris Road, Aragon, was picked up by deputies armed with a warrant for McCraw’s arrest on charges of possession of dangerous drugs.

Morris is accused of fleeing the scene of an accident near the intersection of U.S. 27 north and Old Summerville Road. He is alleged to have run into a wooded area and a K-9 unit brought to assist in tracking the suspect located a number of torn baggies of suspected methamphetamine found along the trail during the chase.

Morris was apparently able to elude officers Monday afternoon but was taken into custody without incident Wednesday evening.

McCraw was being held in the Floyd County jail without bond pending a first appearance hearing Thursday.
