The Floyd Emergency Medical Services Honor Guard will lead the April 1 flag ceremony as the American and Floyd flags are raised at 7 a.m. at the hospital as a visual representation that Polk Medical Center is now a part of the Floyd family.
Later that day members of the community are invited to participate in a health fair to showcase the services available at Polk Medical Center. Several health screenings will be available at the fair, all at no cost:
● blood pressure
●body mass index
Participants also will have the opportunity to register for door prizes and have a healthy snack. The health fair will be staged in the parking lot of Polk Medical Center under an enclosed tent from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
“Raising the Floyd flag at sunrise is a meaningful way to celebrate our new affiliation.
It’s an important signal to our employees, our patients and our community,” said Kim Scoggins, RN, MSN, who will remain as the administrative director of the hospital. “I hope our loyal and dedicated friends and families will join us for both the flag-raising and for the health fair on this very special day.”
