POLK COUNTY — Twenty-six people were arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office during a warrant roundup Monday, according to information from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Those arrested faced various charges, including probation violation, parole violation and child support. Drug arrests were also made during the roundup.

The U.S. Marshal’s Office, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Pardons and Parole, the Polk County probation office, the Cedartown Police Department and the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office participated.

“We like to have these types of random operations to help clear up our active warrants and to exhibit a positive law enforcement presence throughout the community that effectively removes criminals from our neighborhoods,” said Polk County Sheriff Kelly McLendon.

Because of the round-up, 32 warrants were cleared, McClendon said.
