Allison Shaw, a graduate of Cedartown High School, started the program list year as a senior to help with the economic struggle some students face with purchasing an expensive dress.
"Every girl should have an opportunity to go to prom," Shaw said. "I don't want any girl to be embarrassed."
Last year we received 85 dresses and had around 45 girls turn out so there's no limit to what we can expect this year, Shaw said.
This year she is coordinating with the high school's Heath Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club to continue the drive.
Dresses will be collected until Wednesday, March 28. All sizes and colors will be accepted. The dress give away will be Friday, March 30, at the Cedartown Library Community room from 6-9 p.m.
Anyone interested in donating a dress or those with questions can contact Allison Shaw at 678-988-3710 or Connie Shaw at 770-749-1083.
