Sign-ups for baseball and softball are under way, according to Barrow. The sign-ups are for boys and girls, ages three to 16-years-old.
Try-outs are slated for Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb. 12, so anyone wanting to sign-up to play this season is encouraged to sign-up as quickly as possible, with a Feb. 5 deadline date.
Anyone signing up to play before Feb. 5 only has to pay a $45 registration fee. Late registration from Feb. 6-12 will be $50.
Registrations are being held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Northwest Park gym recreation office. Interested parties can also call 770-748-7783 or visit Cedartownrec.com for more information.
Barrow notes that try outs for baseball and softball will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Feb. 11 and from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Feb. 12. Try-outs will be at Northwest Park, rain or shine. If raining, Barrow states that athletes should bring indoor shoes as the try-outs will be held in the gym.
It is also mandatory that all players participate in at least one try out. If a child can’t make a try-out date, the legal guardian should contact the recreation department to inform them. If no notification is made and a child misses try-outs, they could be ineligible to participate in regular season play.
Players will be chosen onto their teams by coaches on Feb. 18-19. Players should be notified by their team by Feb. 20. Opening Day is scheduled for March 24.
