WALSENBURG, Colo. -- Two brothers accused in a multistate crime spree are due back in court on Monday.

Ryan Doughtery (DOCK-er-tee) and Dylan Stanley-Dougherty face five counts each in Colorado of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and other felony charges related to a high speed chase and what authorities say was a shootout before their capture Aug. 10.

They are accused of shooting at a police officer in Florida and a Georgia bank robbery. Dylan Stanley-Dougherty is also accused of planning an escape from the southern Colorado jail where he was brought after his capture.

Colorado, federal and Florida prosecutors are discussing a plea deal to decide what each wants to do in the case. Their sister, Lee Grace Dougherty, has pleaded not guilty to the Colorado charges.
