The Seventh Annual Martin Luther King Jr. March was held in Cedartown Monday afternoon.

Participants marched from the intersection of Thompson and Rock streets to the Cedartown Civic Auditorium on East Avenue singing songs in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday.

Other events going on throughout the day included a prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. at the Cedar Hill Senior Living Center and an awards ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Civic Center with State Representative Rick Crawford as the keynote speaker.

A march was also held in Rockmart from Seaborne Park to the Church of Lord Jesus, 928 Martin Luther King, Jr. St. A birthday celebration was held at the Church in honor of King at noon.
