The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Jan. 16:

1. 9 a.m.- The annual Martin Luther King Jr. day prayer breakfast will be held at the Cedar Hill Senior Living Community in the ball room.

2. The Rockmart MLK march from Seaborne Park to Church of Lord Jesus, 928 Martin Luther King, Jr. St., will be held at 11 a.m.

3. An M.L.K. birthday celebration will be held at the church at noon with keynote speaker Pastor Danny Echols of CrossView Community Church

4. The Cedartown M.L.K. Walk will commence. The walk will start at the corner of Thompson and Rock Streets and go to the Cedartown City Auditorium.

5. 6 p.m.- A celebration and awards presentation will take place at the Cedartown Civic Center. The keynote speaker will be Georgia House Representative Rick Crawford.
