Last Tuesday, the Rockmart Yellow Jackets were able to shake off a sluggish first half and beat Pepperell.

On Saturday, Rockmart was not able to overcome a slow start to the game. East Paulding jumped ahead early and then kept the Yellow Jackets at bay as they won 60-48 at The Rock.

East Paulding started the game on a 9-0 run. The Raiders defense kept Rockmart off the scoreboard until Brady Garrett hit a three-pointer with 3:38 left in the first quarter.

Rockmart would trail 16-7 after the first quarter and 28-15 at the break. East Paulding would outscore the Yellow Jackets 13-9 in the third quarter to take a 41-24 lead into the final eight minutes of play.

During the last stanza, Rockmart's offense would explode, scoring 24 points. However, it would not be enough as East Paulding pulled out the win.

Patrick Williams led Rockmart with 14 points while R.J. Garrett added 11. Anterrian Middlebrooks contributed eight for the Jackets while Tay Twine and Brady Garrett scored six each.

Rockmart will play again on Tuesday, hosting Model at 7:30 p.m.
