Cedartown Christmas parade set for Dec. 1

The 2011 Cedartown Christmas Parade has been scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. with a rain date of Friday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. The theme this year is "Memories of Christmas Past."

All parade float entries will be judged on the parade theme. This year there will be three categores: Church division, open division and most oustanding division. Church and open divisions will each have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. The most outstanding division will only have a 1st place prize. The 1st place prize is $500, 2nd place is $300 and 3rd is $200 for each division.

The parade route will be from Marietta Street to the Badcock Furniture pakring lot behind Wendy's on North Main Street.

Those who enter floats are requested to not have a Santa Claus on the float or to throw candy to children. To apply to enter a float, go to the Cedartown City Hall to pick up an appliaction or go to the City website www.cedartowngeorgia.gov

The deadline for entries will be Monday, Nov. 28.
