TIFTON—A variety of autumn events will take place for young and old alike when the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village, operated by Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, kicks off its first ever Fall Frolics throughout the month of October.

Fall Frolics begins with A Walk Through History on Oct. 1 with spinning, weaving and preserving demonstrations, a 19th Century Military Encampment exhibit, and a Creek Indian Encampment exhibit. On Oct. 8, Forges and Fiddles will feature the opening of a pottery exhibit, guest fiddlers, blacksmith demonstrations, and soap-making. On Oct. 15, the Museum will host a Harvest Celebration with fall games, a caramel apple station, corn shelling, and mule-drawn hay rides. The celebration on that day will conclude with a “Pig-nic” and a movie under the stars.

Critter Saturday will be the theme of the Oct. 22 event at the Museum. It will feature interactive native animal exhibits from Chehaw Park, a hands-on mobile wildlife display, pony rides, and a petting zoo.

The final event for the month will be held on Oct. 29 with a Trick or Treat in the Village. Children can take a trick or treat tour of the Village, see the Monster Spider Web, and listen to ghost stories.

Children and adults can participate in the Museum’s costume contests. Visitors can also take part in the Haunted Village and Steam Train ride on Oct. 28-29.



Other events during the month include the pumpkin patch, corn maze, and family farm ball every Saturday.

Admission to the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village on Tuesday-Friday is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors (age 55 and over), $4 for children 5-16 years of age, and free for children four and under. Saturday admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (age 55 and over), $5 for children 5-16 years of age, and free for children four and under.
