Motorists should expect a single lane closure on I-75 southbound between Exit 226/Carbondale Road in Whitfield County and Exit 220/Hill City Road in Gordon County. The right lane of I-75 south between mile markers 322.7 and 321 will be closed again tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Thislane closure is necessary for Georgia DOT’s maintenance crews to repair the deteriorating asphalt spots on this stretch of the Interstate. This maintenance operation and the lane closure it necessitates are weather permitting and subject to change.

Georgia DOT urges travelers to call 511 for updated information about this or any other road project on interstates and state routes. Georgia 511 is a free phone service that provides real-time traffic and travel information statewide, such as traffic conditions, incidents, lane closures, and delays due to inclement weather.

Callers also can transfer to operators to request assistance or report incidents 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
