Allen said the book was installed into the Polk County Historical Society on June 29, and is being considered for inclusion into the Cedartown Library.
"From Whence it Came" tells the story of eight generations of Allen's family beginning with her great-great-great-grandmother Eular who was a slave woman on a plantation in Virginia.
According to her biography, Allen is a 30-year law enforcement veteran. She grew up during the Civil Rights movement and embraces the philosophy of that era. She earned her Bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Southern Colorado and her Master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
