The Polk School District Board of Education met in special session last night to discuss next year's budget.

The proposed budget, which is still in draft form, has several tentative cuts including: textbooks allocations, parapro hours, three furlough days and funds for the Ombudsman school.

Notably absent were rumor cuts to elementary and middle school arts and music programs.

The budget is again on the agenda for tonight's monthly meeting which will begin at 6:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
