What Cedartown police are calling a domestic altercation led to the stabbing of a 30-year-old man and the arrest of a Cedartown woman Saturday night.
According to Deputy Chief James Newsome of the Cedartown Police Department:
Augustus Richards, 30, was stabbed in arm and head and may have had boiling water thrown on him. The call to 911 came in around 9:45 p.m.
Gloria Scott, of 609 S. College St., Cedartown, was charged with aggravated assault at the Polk County Jail.
Richards and Scott had been living together at Scott's resident for a few weeks.
A Floyd Medical Center was called to pick up Richards, and he was taken to FMC in Rome.
Newsome said he didn't know what caused the incident. Richards was still being treated at the emergency room at 11 p.m.
