ROME, GA. – Clocktower Classic handcycle race officials announced today that the road race, formerly Stage 3, will now take place in Cedartown.

The race was previously scheduled for Texas Valley in Northern Floyd County, but was relocated following the damaging storms of April 27.

The race will start and finish at Pine Bower Baptist Church off Johnson Lake road in Polk County.

"The Cedartown City Commission, Polk County Sherriff's Department, and Pine Bower Baptist Church have been gracious to offer their assistance and support," said Ann Hortman, race director and GRCVB sports marketing & event coordinator.

"It's good to have neighbors like Polk County to come to our assistance when we have an emergency here in the county," said Hortman.

The Clocktower Classic is a four day, four stage race for wheelchair users and athletes with lower-mobility impairments using special bikes powered by hand. The event brings over 40 athletes to Rome from around the world.
