The Arts Center Theatre
The Rockmart High School Thespians present Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” at 7:30 p.m. March 10-12 in the Arts Center Theatre, 116 East Elm Street.
This timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale transports the audience to a miraculous kingdom where dreams do come true.
Cinderella will be played by Kelsey Harp, with Isaac Huskins as the Prince, and Paige Duff as the Fairy Godmother. Chelsey Marks will portray the Stepmother with Brent Costin and Connor Hooper as the “Ugly” Stepsisters who want to marry the Prince. The king will be played by Jordan Heaton with Morgan Oldham as his queen. These will be joined by townspeople and others to tell the story of Cinderella.
The show is directed by Margaret Jacobs and Matt Johnson with music direction by Craig Godfrey, RHS Band and Chorus Instructor.
Student tickets will be $5.00 and Adults will be $6.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door.
Advance tickets will be available for purchase at the Rockmart High School.
Cultural Arts Center - First in the Gallery:
The 2011 Annual “Youth Art Exhibition” opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12.
There will be an artists’ reception between 1 and 3 p.m. that day. The gallery closes at 4 p.m. The youth art will be on display through April 2.
All children under age 18 have been invited to participate so we are looking forward to plenty of talented young artists being part of the first annual Youth Art Exhibit to be held in the Cultural Arts Center Gallery, 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart. Everyone is invited to attend. Admission is free.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Next in the Gallery: “AAR-tiste” (artists 65 and up) are reminded that the deadline for submissions to the next exhibition are due March 11. All media is requested for this exhibit. The stipulations are that the works must have been created by artists who are currently 65 year of age or older, however the art works need not to have been created recently. Take this opportunity to show off favorite art works created by your parents, grandparents, senior friends and relatives, alongside your own work! This show will be on exhibit April 9 to June 4.
