The Cedartown Middle School wrestling team had several wrestlers place at the FCMAA Championship last Thursday at Coosa High School.

“I am very proud of these young men and their accomplishments this year,” Cedartown High School head coach Jerry Hartline stated. “They have worked extremely hard and deserve to be recognized for their accomplishments. Dylan Davis, Dylan Dixon, Adrian Ervin, and Rodney Smith are all eighth graders and I look forward to having them next year on the high school wrestling team.”

David Stocks won first place in the 80 pound weight class and Dylan Davis won first place in the 103 pound weight class.

Brandon Brame earned a second place finish in the 85 pound weight class while Dylan Dixon placed third in the 112 pound division and Adrian Ervin finished third in the 132 pound division.

Rodney Smith came in fourth in the 125 pound weight class.

“We traveled with 11 wrestlers to the area championship (last Thursday) and had six of the 11 place,” Hartline said. “That is exciting to have as a coach. The ones that did not place wrestled extremely well and have contributed numerous times this season to the Cedartown Middle School wrestling team’s success.

“I am proud to be able to have helped coach these young men.”
