A city proclamation read during Monday night's meeting of the Cedartown City Commission recognized the Cedartown Middle School football team for winning all seven regular season games and the league championship.

The proclamation notes that it has been 12 years since a CMS team last achieved this feat. The proclamation also noted that over the course of the season, the CMS football team's offense scored a total of 264 points in eight ball games, and the defense allowed only 112 points.

Most of the team attended Monday's monthly meeting of the city commission for the event. Odom named each player and had the boys raise their hand and pledge to "remain in school and come to Cedartown High School."

Team members are Benjie Akins, Harrison Barnett, Stephen Blazer, Bolivar Cordero, Dylan Davis, Logan Duke, Adrian Ervin, A.J. Heath, Daniel King, Keilus Jackson, Jose Lee, Seth Mason, Freddie Moore, Shikahri Murphy, DaVonte Pace, Peyton Payne, Austin Pope, Dalton Puckett, Garrett Rodger, Michael Rhodes, Logan Rush, Ben Russell, Tyrone Scoffield, Zonterius Scoffield, Rodney Smith, Ron Stephens, Titus Stocks, Ben Truett and Justin Womack.
