Power along North Main Street in Cedartown has been restored this afternoon. According to Georgia Power Spokesperson Carol Boatwright, strong wind gusts have caused outages across the state and crews worked to get Cedartown's businesses and traffic lights working again by 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Several traffic lights were without power in north Cedartown around 1:30 this afternoon, apparently the result of strong wind gusts.

Streets where power was out included North Main, Queen, Philpot and Girard Avenue. Restaurants, including Kentucky Fried Chicken, Subway, Wendy's and McDonald's, were all without electrical power at 1:30 p.m., as were neighboring businesses.

The Cedartown Police Department was helping direct traffic and Georgia Power Co. crews were in the area attempting to correct the outage.
